Cristiano M. Chiessi

Cristiano M. Chiessi holds a BSc (2001) in Geology from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, where he also got a MSc (2004) in Sedimentary Geology. He received his PhD (2008) in Paleoceanography and Paleoclimatology at the University of Bremen, Germany. After a post-doc (2009) at the National Institute for Space Research in Brazil, he obtained an Assistant Professor position at the University of São Paulo.

His research interests are paleoceanography, paleoclimatology and climate change. He applies inorganic geochemical and isotopic proxies in marine and continental sediments to unravel oceanic and continental paleoenvironmental changes in different time-scales and sedimentary basins.
