Fabio Raposo do Amaral is currently an Adjunct Professor at the Federal University of São Paulo, where he teaches both under-graduate and graduate courses. His research interests lie at the intersection of evolution, genetics and ornithology. He obtained his PhD in Genetics and Evolution at University of São Paulo (2008), and graduated from Universidade Mackenzie in Biological Sciences (2002). His research on macro and microevolutionary processes has used many Atlantic Forest endemic species of antbirds, warbling finches and raptors as models, with recent focus on species endemic to montane forests of South/South East Brazil.
