Miguel Trefaut Rodrigues

Miguel Trefaut Rodrigues graduated from the Université de Paris VII (1978) in Biological Sciences, obtained his PhD in Zoology (1984), and his position (1995) at the Institute of Biosciences, University of São Paulo (a) where he is presently Full Professor in the Department of Zoology, teaching both graduate and undergraduate courses.


His field experience includes expeditions throughout all Brazilian and most South American ecosystems. His main interests are systematic herpetology, as well as speciation, biogeography, and evolution of neotropical reptiles and amphibians. He has more than 200 papers on the subject.
